Roman, formally Harvey, is a sweet boy that wants to be the center of your universe! He loves people and is very charming! He was SSRR's last rescue of 2013 and comes to us from Texas. He appeared to belong to someone but was never claimed at the shelter. His time was up but the shelter worker reached out and told SSRR about Roman and that he was too sweet to end his young life.

Roman is HW negative, UTD on shots, house and crate trained, knows basic obedience, heal, sit, down, stay, etc. and walks great on a leash. He loves going for walks and playing fetch, he also loves to rest on top your feet. He is always by your side and will follow you to every room in the house. Roman has never shown any aggression towards food and water. He sits and waits for me to place his bowl down. His house mate always tries to see if he has something better and he never minds sharing. He loves to give kisses but is still learning not to be so mouthy! He gives the best hugs with his giant head and just melts into you!

Roman needs a home with an experienced Rottie owner as he is still learning to "play nice" with other dogs. He is not aggressive, but he tends to get too excited and forgets all of his manners. While on walks if we pass another dog, he will bark and jump. Roman has a 40lb house mate and they absolutely LOVE each other. Roman plays great with her but it took a very long, slow, controlled introduction period to get this way. When Roman first met her he was so excited to play but didn't know how to play without hurting her. He let his excitement take over! We had to go for daily walks together and I would keep a leash on him to correct him if his play became too rough. Now I just remind him "easy" and he is a perfect gentleman!
