Hello friends, I'm Rocky. My name is no coincidence, my life had been a bit rocky from the start and I want to be honest about it. My person is my life, so knowing all about me is very important! I was left, abandoned and sick out front of a shelter in Arkansas. I wasn’t even tied up, I was just waiting for someone to come along and help me. So they did.

I was cared for and loved my the shelter staff, and I loved them back, but I was in pain. My eyes and ears hurt a lot. They did their best at the little shelter until SSRR stepped in and was able to get the extra veterinary care I needed. I had an eye removed, and my other eye was given attention even though I'm blind in it as well.

I am now feeling better and looking for my forever home. I have learned so quickly how to adjust to life as a blind boy and need someone who wants to take the adventure of my new life on with me. I’m still young and full of energy and I love to play and go for walks. I like car rides and couch cuddles and have become an expert at learning how to get in and out of the car and up and down from the couch.

My forever family will need to be just as loyal and loving as me. We will live a somewhat quiet, predictable life in the country or the burbs. I'm not into loud noises or too many surprises. I need someone I can trust who can remind me to 'Watch' if I'm coming up to something too quickly so I can slow down and maneuver around it. I want my family to be small, just a few of us, and would like someone who spends a decent amount of time at home with me. I need someone to help me through this life that has been so dark, because even though I can't see, I trust that you will be the light.

Step 1:   Please complete the adoption application in full; incomplete applications WILL NOT BE PROCESSED

Step 2:   Our Lead Adoption Coordinator will contact you and confirm your application has been received (please use our Contact Us form if you have not gotten a response within 7 days).

Step 3:   After you have received confirmation from our Lead Adoption Coordinator, your application will then be forwarded to communicate with one of our Adoption Coordinators.  The Adoption Coordinator is your point of contact during the adoption process.  

Step 4:   Once the Adoption Coordinator has finished processing your application, a volunteer will be selected to contact you to schedule a home visit. Home visits allow us to see where the dog will live, discuss any questions you have and review our adoption contract.

Step 5:   Once the application process is completed, the adoption package goes to the board of directors for a 24 hour review.
