Zeus is a very sweet well mannered boy.  He is completely house trained and runs right into his crate (for a treat, of course). He knows all of his basic commands such as sit, paw, down, and stay.  Zeus will wait patiently to be told he can eat, which is tough to do when your surrounded by three other hungry dogs.  Speaking of his foster siblings...Zeus would absolutely love a sibling to play with in his furever home.  He has gotten along with all 3 of his foster siblings with no problem.

He will do best with a larger dog more his size.  As he tends to play rough and the little guys get knocked around.  The same goes for children.  The little guys will most likely get knocked down.  He's kind of a "bull in a china shop" type dog.  

He will bark at strangers outside the home, but, once he is introduced he gladly welcomes them in.

Zeus walks well on a leash.  Except when he sees any small critters like squirrels or cats.  No small creatures in his home or yard.  He will need a fenced yard.  He will chase small critters and keep going if he has no boundaries.  

Zeus is protective of his head and face.  Often he will hang his head to avoid direct physical contact.  We have been working every day to build his confidence with loving touch.  Zeus is not an in your face "kissy" dog.  He will not lick all over you. He keeps kisses for quiet times when he thinks no one (or no dogs) are watching.  But once you get one of those special kisses, you'll always want more.

Step 1:   Please complete the adoption application in full; incomplete applications WILL NOT BE PROCESSED

Step 2:   Our Lead Adoption Coordinator will contact you and confirm your application has been received (please use our Contact Us form if you have not gotten a response within 7 days).

Step 3:   After you have received confirmation from our Lead Adoption Coordinator, your application will then be forwarded to communicate with one of our Adoption Coordinators.  The Adoption Coordinator is your point of contact during the adoption process.  

Step 4:   Once the Adoption Coordinator has finished processing your application, a volunteer will be selected to contact you to schedule a home visit. Home visits allow us to see where the dog will live, discuss any questions you have and review our adoption contract.

Step 5:   Once the application process is completed, the adoption package goes to the board of directors for a 24 hour review.
