Moxian was picked up as a stray in Northern VA after being on his own and probably had an abusive owner at some point in his life.  In the two months since we have fostered him here in Hubert, NC he has shown us what an amazing boy he truly is and will be!

Moxian does get nervous with people he doesn't know, so he does need lots of patients, but he  is working on continually building up his confidence to most normal situations. Once he does trust you the sky's the limit with this 4 years young man.  Every morning he gets up at 6:30 am to potty and have breakfast with his two foster dog brothers and a 6 year old human foster brother.  In his foster home his dog foster brothers are a six year old Aussie Shepherd Beagle cross and a three year old Rottweiler. He does seem to tolerate a lot from the youngest.  Moxian does play well with them, but you do need to watch as he can get a little rough, and he does talk during play! Moxian loves to play with toys on his own and his foster dad’s feet from time to time.  He will chew on bones and ram horns, he does not like squeaky pig type rubber toys.

Moxian loves attention and will climb into your lap for it.  He does need someone with experience in his breed and that is willing to take the time to get to know his various quirks.  He is your typical Rottie, very protective of his home and pack. Anytime a car door closes or he hears something out of the normal, he will bark very loudly and deeply.

Moxian is wonderful on a leash.  He does not pull nor does he pay any attention to other dogs when they are barking at him (he will go sniff something if he catches a scent though).  He does go into his kennel at bedtime and anytime his pack member’s are away.  He is incredibly smart and quick to please!
