There is a dog for everyone, and there is someone for EVERY dog. As a rescue, it's our job to find that someone. Could Rock be that dog for you? If you are looking for a single dog that doesn't have to compete with another dog, then Rocky may be the dog for you. If you are looking for a super affectionate dog that loves his people, then Rocky may be the dog for you. If you are looking for a funny, playful boy that's guaranteed to make you laugh then then Rocky may be the dog for you. If you have said yes to the above and live within driving distance of Tallahassee then why not set up an appointment and see if Rocky is the dog for you?
Rocky is currently at Wagland Kennels in Tallahassee where he gets LOTS of play time and interaction with the kennel techs. One young man in particular has taught him all sorts of commands. He is a devilishly handsome boy that loves belly rubs, affection, and to be groomed. He is very happy and is always wagging his tail.
Rocky is looking for his perfect forever home where he needs a Rottweiler savvy owner that can give him a job to do to keep him occupied and engaged. He likes to play with rope toys, balls, and sticks and likes to explore his surroundings. Rocky is a very smart boy so he will try to outsmart you if you are not paying attention. Keeping doors shut and secured is a must with him because he is lighting fast. He will be very loyal to the person that gives him the extra attention that he thrives on.
Rocky is a very special boy who desperately needs someone to commit to him. He's a sweet boy who craves attention from his people. He needs someone who is going to allow him ample time to decompress and adjust to his new surroundings. He wants to please, he just doesn't completely understand what is expected of him. So, he needs a family who is going to teach him how to trust, continue working on his training and show him what it means to be a true family member. His biggest fault is recall. Rocky only comes when Rocky wants to come. He is very stubborn and VERY smart. He knows that if you are trying to get him to do something he can revolt or lay down and you can't move the boulder. You have to be smarter than Rocky. A good approach to getting him to do something is to make him think that he wants to do it.
Basically, Rocky is a full grown puppy. He doesn't realize he's big and he doesn't realize he's strong. Rocky will need to be an only dog and cannot be adopted to a home with other animals or small children. We would like to adopt Rocky to a family within driving distance of Wagland Kennels in Tallahassee. You will need to set up an appointment to meet him and see if you and him are a good match.
Rocky is house trained, crate trained, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash. Because of his size, he will require an extra-large crate or he won’t go in it. Rocky will make someone a very loyal companion!
Upon approval to adopt, you will be sent SSRR Decompression and Introduction requirements that we require ALL of our adopters to follow . You will be asked to acknowledge receipt of these requirements, verify that you have read them and that you will follow them.
