Sophie LOVES people, attention, and walks.  She is a beautiful example of a standard female Rottie, and an absolute sweetheart around all humans!  She is an adult dog that is past the puppy stage (and work), but well before the senior stage of life.  Sophie is housebroken, kennel trained, calm in the car, and excellent on the leash.  She is great with new people, including at the Vets. She  does not jump on people or counter surf, and she knows basic commands. Sophie is a calm dog that loves walks but is not an overly active dog.  She will bond with her new owner very quickly, and just loves to be pet and rubbed.  She is a “Velcro dog” and has mastered the Rottie lean.  In many ways she is the perfect companion dog.

Sophie had a rough start to life however, as a breeder dog, and then a second owner passed away.  These experiences had an impact, and as a result Sophie comes with some challenges.  While Sophie is amazing with people, she is unfortunately reactive to other dogs and must be the ONLY dog in the home. She must also be muzzled when around any dog.  Even slow introductions cannot ensure consistent results.  Sophie is amazing with people, but struggles with separation anxiety (who wouldn’t after what she went through).  She has a strong chase instinct for wild rabbits, squirrels and other wildlife.

Sophie would do great in an environment where her owner works from home, can take her to work with them or is retired. If you are looking for a super loyal sweetheart, and can have Sophie as your only dog (she really is enough dog all by herself!), then consider being the forever home for this amazing dog.
