Roxie is a wonderful dog despite needing time to warm up to new people. When she arrived at her current foster home, it was obvious she was extremely leery of her foster mom for a solid 48 hours. She let's out a soft whine when she’s nervous, and cautiously approaches, keeping her distance in general.  But with reassurance and treats, at that point she began to trust her foster mom and now Roxie loves her as if she never had another home.  Her foster mom  can hug her, touch her body and feet with no issues.  She would probably adopt Roxie if she didn’t have 2 small hyper dogs that just get her way too excited. She is fine with her 55 lb foster sister.

Roxie is a short Rottie at about 65 lbs. She's completely housebroken and knows basic commands. She sleeps a lot and will follow you around without being "needy" or hyper. She loves to destroy balls or toys, but doesn’t chew on household items.  She doesn't care to get on the furniture but will if you ask her to do so.  She gets excited when her foster mom gets home from work, and she jumps her front legs off the ground repeatedly like a bunny rabbit.

Roxie is protective of the house  and if she sees a glimpse of someone approaching the door, she will bark like a maniac until she can see, or is told, the person is OK. We believe that may come out of fear, but not necessarily a bad thing as she certainly makes you feel safe in your home without her being aggressive

The bad about Roxie: she, like many rescue dogs, is very nervous when going to the vet, and needs to be muzzled. Which is understandable,  as she had a questionable start to her life.  Roxie has urinary incontinence,  but it is controlled with medication 2-3 times per day.
