Reggie is a big ham who bonds strongly to one person. He does best with a schedule and a routine, and a human who will give him structure, rules and boundaries - not allow him to think he is the one running the show.

When Reggie thinks he is the one in charge, he can become anxious, reactive, and defensive to correction. This can make him difficult to place in a home with other dogs if his handler is inexperienced since correction is a big part of dog communication. When Reggie views his human as the pack leader, he does not have anxiety and has no problem taking correction as he prefers to be in a following state of mind instead of feeling like he has to be the one in charge.

Reggie is a back of the pack dog, so being put in a leadership position is a burden to him and makes him act out due to the stress it causes him. Someone experienced/educated in dog behavior can manage him around other dogs as he has decent social skills but needs to understand his place in the pack to successfully coexist.

Reggie is very food motivated, has great handling skills, and is an affectionate dog who genuinely wants to please. He is very intelligent, observant, and enjoys interactive games/toys that work his mind. He is a high energy dog who loves exercising, going for hikes, and would make a great running partner as he has good endurance. He is also fine with taking a lazy day and has a great off switch in the house if his physical and mental needs are being adequately met. Reggie has strong prey drive so small animals are NOT recommended and NO children unless he is with an experienced owner. He has great leash manners and is house broken and crate trained.
